i try to wash away
my past with these words
yet the ink stays dry
etched deep beneath my skin

we can bleed our hearts out sheet after sheet, but the fact remains our past is still our past. love cut me twice, one deeper than the other. i’ve chosen to bring my scars to the surface, because they did more harm hidden underneath …

  1. Thank you Kayla! It hasn’t been easy, because as males we’re taught to just suck it up and move on, but it’s like a release value has been turned ever so slowly. I can choose to coward and hide pretending I’m this perfect being, or I can stand out and say this is me, these are my wounds, take me as I am. Thanks again for taking the time to read.
